Biomedical Signal Processing Engineer

We are looking for a Biomedical Signal Processing Engineer to work on various key aspects of product development involving the ANX 3.0 Autonomic System Monitor. A suitable candidate will be detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision. The candidate will have excellent communication, analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills.

Specific responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to) the following:

  • Investigate, design, implement, validate, and document advanced signal processing algorithms involving wavelet and Fast Fourier transforms
  • Maintain and upgrade Labview-based signal processing and data interpretation software
  • Design, development, and production of a miniaturized web-based version of the ANX 3.0 monitoring system
  • Prepare and implement release of software updates, and maintain detailed code and system documentation
  • Maintain an extensive patient database for validation, verification, and testing software changes
  • Interface with the Sales and Marketing and I.T. departments to gather customer requirements and feedback from medical personnel (physicians, nurses, technologists)
  • Perform assembly and installation of systems, provide technical guidance to technicians, and if necessary, field technical service calls
  • Maintain quality standards and regulatory compliance in accordance with ANSAR’s Quality Control systems and FDA cGMP procedures
  • Collaborate with academic researchers and physicians on on-going clinical investigations for the development of autonomic nervous system monitoring
  • Publish and present abstracts and articles, and perform data and statistical analyses using mathematical and statistical formulae
  • Develop intellectual property and support the process of creating patents
Required Qualifications:
  • MS (PhD preferred) in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, or a related field from an accredited university
  • Formal background and training in signal processing
  • Experience with LabView (or demonstrated ability to learn quickly)
  • Experience with scientific computing applications (e.g. MATLAB, SAS)
  • Excellent speaking and technical writing skills
Desired Qualifications:
  • Formal background and training in human systems physiology
  • Working knowledge of the autonomic nervous system
  • Experience using standard software development tools and languages (e.g. C++)
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and quality management systems
  • Experience with the FDA approval process
  • Experience supervising small but high-impact projects
  • Experience in working with others in a team-based environment
  • Proven capability for original scientific contribution demonstrated by a strong publication history
